Admission Information for Mid-Session Tranfer Cases
For students entering AGS during:
- 9th grade or between 9th and 10th grade
- 11th grade or between 11th and 12th grade
Changing schools in the middle of a Session can be problematic as schools do not always offer the same CIE/ IB subjects and each school covers the content at different times. However, the IBO is well aware that students sometimes need to transfer from school to school and we at AGS try to do our best to help students through the transition.
Mid-program transfers involve the sharing of information and CIE/IB documentation from school to school through the CIE/IB Coordinators. As a matter of testing security, CIE/IBO expects that all assessment documentation to be handled by the Coordinators, not the student.
Transfer students should request the listed information from their current teachers and program Coordinator. If at all possible, all materials can be sent as a single package to arrive before the student starts at AGS.
Students can play their part by having all their previous year’s school work available and the additional listed information for their new teachers. Please note that it can take up to two months to clear shipments so subject binders are best carried in for the start of school.
Student: Indicate subject area, topic and research question prior to joining school. Bring the outline and all notes for review with new EE advisor.
Request to Coordinator: Information on the status of the student’s Extended Essay from the EE advisor, including comments that might be useful for the EE coversheet.

Request to Coordinator: Information on approach to TOK at previous school and sequence of topics covered. Presentation scoring and partially completed TOK form if applicable.
Request to CAS Coordinator:All previously submitted documentation must be transferred along with written information about any summer activities that had been approved.
Group 1 (English):
Student: The IB Coordinator and English teacher will need a full list of texts already studied in the first year of the course. This list should identify the relevant parts for the A1 works list that the texts belong to.
Request to Coordinator: Additionally the school must be asked to provide the full breakdown of the grades received in the Oral presentation and the comments from the teacher. This must be received from the school in a sealed envelope.
Group 2: (Second language)
