Children of Grade 4 had a session with the special educator of the school, Ms.Gautami Kapila.

Children of Grade 4 had a session with the special educator of the school, Ms.Gautami Kapila, to understand the risks of and challenges encountered by children with special needs. They also learnt about ways in which individuals, organizations,schools and government can include them meaningfully in the society. This interaction was a part of learning for the unit of inquiry on risks, challenges and opportunities children face worldwide, under the transdisciplinary theme Sharing the planet.

Grade 3 students are learning about sustainability of Earth’s resources

They have learnt that their actions have consequences and making informed choices is everyone’s responsibility. Children collaboratively created a questionnaire and went on to interview their parents and family members to gain insight into mindful choices made by them to save resources.

Kaleidoscope: The Exhibition 2020-21

Resilient, confident, determined and caring IB learners of grade 5 presented and celebrated learning on 25 Jun ’21 with the learning community of  350 people at The exhibition(virtual).

Student Led Conference(SLC) held today, 20th March 2021

Student agency in the Primary Years Programme(PYP)  empowers students to take ownership for their learning. SLC is an example. Student Led Conference involves the student, parents and teachers, wherein, the students lead the conference and take the responsibility for sharing the process of learning with their parents. Students presented their portfolio with selected work and the approaches to learning(skills) and IB learner profile attributes they are developing.

Insights of Grade 3 A was held on 20th February 2021

Insights of Grade 3 A was held at 10 am. today. It was a celebration of learning .Students demonstrated how they are developing the attributes of the the IB learner profile and the approaches to learning.

Parents joined and encouraged our children with their motivating words.

Primary School at AGS Gurgaon is celebrating Languages from 15th to 20th of February 2021

International Mother Language Day is held worldwide on 21st February to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote multilingualism.

 Primary at AGS Gurgaon is celebrating Languages from 15th to 20th of February 2021. During this week,  students will participate in different activities to celebrate home and family languages.

Ms. Crystal Lunsford (Davey’s mother) presented an American tall-tale based on her native language. She interacted with the students on the characters, story line and the moral of the story.

Ms. Neera Sharma, Amyra Dhingra’s mother of Grade 1 shared a story in Punjabi on four friends which was about unity.

She also shared interesting facts about Punjab and the people. Children learnt words like Balle-Balle an expression of happiness and excitement and Doaba which means a city between two rivers like Jalandhar. They also learnt that people from and in Punjab speak a language called Gurmukhi and it is the 10th most spoken language across the globe.

Gallery Walk -2020

Gallery Walk is a strategy, at AGS, wherein students of primary demonstrate how they are developing the attributes of the IB learner profile. Students display understanding of the elements of the IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) during the Gallery Walk – knowledge, approaches to learning (skills), concepts and actions they take. They make presentations to their parents showcasing what, how and why they are learning through the conceptual, inquiry and transdisciplinary nature of the IB PYP.

This year Gallery Walk was held virtually in MS-Teams on Saturday, 19thSeptember 2020 .

Virtual Yoga

Yoga is an ancient art that connects the mind and body. It is an exercise that we perform by balancing the elements of our bodies. In addition, it helps us meditate and relax.

Yoga is a way to exercise our bodies, our breath, and our minds all at the same time.

Yoga helps strengthen children’s growing bodies and helps them improve their flexibility, which can reduce their chance of injury. Yoga teaches discipline and reduces impulsivity. … It also teaches children about discipline as they work on clearing their minds and perfecting their poses.

Little Yogis from Amity global school are practicing and learning yoga postures through online yoga classes.


Camp Sariska – February 2020

Students of Primary  School went for a two day camp at Sariska. Attending the Camp was another unique venue for growth, allowing kids to become independent and self-confident  and even learning new skills.

Mini Inquiry on Life during the Pandemic

During the period, 6th to 24th July 2020, students of primary school explored pertinent and relevant issues related to the current times.

 The newsletter of Primary(PYP) has been created on a digital tool, Wakelet. This newsletter, on Wakelet, showcases the unit of inquiry of all grades, under the transdisciplinary theme, Who we are. Students inquired into the opportunities individuals and communities have and use for their well-being. The central idea was explored and understood by all grades from Pre-Nursery to 5.

 In this mini unit of inquiry, children have delved to develop the approaches to learning – self-management, social, communication, research and thinking skills while continuing to reflect on how they are growing using the IB learner profile attributes.

 Students demonstrated resilience and self-regulation in the learning process. The inquiry process encouraged them to bring about changes in their lives and appreciate the opportunities the pandemic has provided. The children made craft with reused and recycled material, sang songs collaboratively, danced, conducted surveys to investigate perspectives on well-being, reflected on current issues across the world, digital tools to spread awareness, participated in art projects and sports challenges, etc. Myriad digital tools are being used in the learning and teaching process in all primary school grades at AGS, Gurgaon.
