Chandrei Choudhury joined Amity Global School, Gurugram in 2013 as the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Coordinator. Chandrei’s journey as an educator began in 1989 and has worked in schools and organisations across India. She began working as a teacher in IB PYP, since 2005 where she found her grounding and since has continued to learn through her roles as homeroom tutor, grade coordinator to assistant PYP coordinator and IB PYP
Coordinator.
Chandrei has a sound educational background of Bachelor of Arts (Economics Honours) from Miranda House, Delhi University, Diploma in Systems Management and Bachelor of Education(B.Ed). She has lived in many places in
India and abroad and travelled widely. Music and reading are her keen interests.
She is a part of IBEN (IB Educator Network) as IB Workshop Leader, IB School Visit Team Leader and a PYP Consultant. The roles of a IB educator, facilitator and PYP Coordinator have enabled her to develop understanding of how requirements for the learning and teaching process can be implemented or contextualized in different settings and cultures.
Being with children, spending time to understand nuances and engaging in experiences with them are her forte. In depth understanding, with an eye for detail, observation, empathy, communication, cooperation, collaboration and working to meet objectives are her strengths.
In her role as the IB PYP Coordinator she takes on considerable responsibility, to bring about benefit and opportunity for teachers in implementing and practicing the PYP in the classrooms. She shares expertise in a focused, planned and meaningful way to deliver and help create an environment where children are actively engaged.
