Library

Amity Global School, Gurgaon has a spacious and multi-media equipped library that caters with different sections to the needs of Primary (PYP), Middle (CIE) and Senior (IBDP) school students. The library is completely automated and uses Dewey Decimal Classification system that arranges all the available resources like books, journals, encyclopaedias, dictionaries and other knowledge books in a universally standardized fashion over the various display sections. The electronic database allows easy and secured access to students as well as staff to the e-resource available online on AMITY Group of Schools Library for their research works via the desktops available within the library itself. The students can do self-study or research work in a silent, calm and relaxed surrounding. Two librarians are available for any help or assistance to the students as the need may be. The librarians are responsible for the upkeep of the library apart from maintaining the inventory and stocks up-to-date. They ensure that the library serves as the nurturing ground for the budding talents in Amity Global School.

Art, Music and Dance Studios

‘Still Life Observation’ is one of the fundamental skills that is exercised in still life drawings. The study requires the learner’s unwavering concentration on the object, followed by making a conscious and an informed decision on how those objects translate into the work produced. Still Life Drawing gives the learners a clear understanding of light and shading techniques. Moreover, it helps to refine the skill of creating well-proportioned drawings. Students of Grade 6 learnt Shading during Virtual Art classes and demonstrated their work. They learnt the different techniques of shading like Blending, Hatching, Cross hatching, Stippling etc and applied the light to dark shades using Tint, Tone, Hue and Shade color’s in still life objects.

Sports

AGS students are doing practice at home for fencing. It helps in improving coordination, strength, flexibility, reflection, decision making ability, speed and agility. Fencing is art and practice of attack and defense with the sword. Fencing is a group of three related combat sports. The three disciplines in modern fencing are the foil, the epee and the sabre. Fencing was one of the first sports to be played in the Olympics, based on the traditional skills of sword fighting. Archery is the practice or skill of using a bow to shoot arrows. The word comes from the Latin arcus meaning ‘bow’ or ‘arch’. As a sport, archery requires skills of precision, control, focus, repetition and determination. Archery is an ancient sport that has evolved a number of variations in format. Archery is an extremely accessible sport in countries around the world. It is a sport for all ages and abilities – and can be as recreational or competitive as the person taking part wants! At AGS students are continuously trying to achieve their aim and doing a wondrous task at the sport.
